For those who are motorcycle lovers and have been riding the same vehicle for a long time and do not know how to paint a motorcycle , the time will come when the sun, the dust on the road or (hopefully not the frequent reason) an eventual fall, the paint of our beloved bike will need a facelift. For how to paint a motorcycle we tell you in a simple way a series of practical tips in order to restore the motorcycle yourself. Obviously the finish will never be the same as what you would get by hiring the services of a professional workshop, but in this post we will at least prevent your adventure from ending in catastrophe.

How to paint a motorcycle: Step 1

The first thing that has to be done is to disassemble the part so that it is totally independent and manageable with respect to the motorcycle. Then, it is necessary to sand it so that the adherence of the new layer of paint is perfect, thus eliminating any chipping, scratching or rusted parts. We recommend that you sand it by machine so that the wear is more uniform, and that the grain size of the sandpaper is not greater than 350. In case the piece is made of metal, it is important to remove all the areas of paint until reaching the bare steel, and if it is plastic, go down to the original color of the plastic part.
