Classic motorcycles do not stand out for having large storage spaces, as can happen with a scooter, and the same happens with any custom motorcycle. On motorcycles where aesthetics are so important, we cannot mount the typical GIVI suitcase , so colorful on trail or road motorcycles.

If possible, they should be able to be closed securely . Even if they can crack them to steal them, we must make it difficult for thieves. If it has a good closure, the better.
They have to adapt perfectly to your motorcycle : they cannot resist the wind, otherwise they will increase the noise on the motorcycle, cause instability and increase fuel consumption.
Its size must be adequate for what you want to transport. If you just want to carry a tool bag, you don't need a giant motorcycle saddlebag. With a small bag under the handlebar it will be worth it. On the contrary, if you plan to travel for days, you need space for all your luggage.
It is recommended that they be easily transportable when we remove them from the motorcycle, either with handles or straps , so that they become a conventional suitcase, which we can take anywhere.
Do I have to approve a motorcycle saddlebag?
Not at all, it is an accessory, not a component of your motorcycle. You can ride with any motorcycle saddlebag without fear of being fined and without having to pass any homologation .
The saddlebags have to be well secured to the motorcycle by means of their own anchors, and you cannot carry sharp objects that protrude from them.
